I finally saw “Inception”! Well, the first hour of it. I’m trying to remember if it was Leo or Ellen Page that made me nod off. Maybe Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s forehead?

Nothing has changed, except that I am more fully provisioned. Everyone on Cortelyou is very collegial. I have seen two folk, on the older side, who seemed genuinely terrified. I tried my best to calm them down.
The bakery was out of loaves, so I went to the Mexican bakery, where the bread is much better anyone (though not in loaf form). Lesson learned!

Groceries here in Ditmas are relatively sedate — about as busy as they would be at 6pm on a weekday — and I didn’t notice any obvious shortages. Though it does seem that suppliers are trying to do a weekend’s worth of deliveries in one morning, because there are trucks loading in milk, bread, meat everywhere.

So here at the office we are methodically de-hurricanizing all of the exterior offices. (Which is basically all the office.) Moving stuff into a central, windowless room. Unplugging the electronics. Etc.

Well, my apartment is apparently safe according to the NYC evacuation map, but all my friends in Red Hook would have a go of it, as would, apparently, my office.
These things never turn into anything up here, of course, but it’s fun to pretend that you’re a Floridian for a moment.
